Sergeant Robert Loughran-Dickson was shot during a routine patrol on duty in Afghanistan.
Robert was the proud father of 17 year old son, also named Robert.
He was the youngest of three children, born and raised in Deal, Kent. He enlisted into the Army in 1997, in the Royal, Electrical and Mechanical Engineers and had served in Kosovo, Iraq, Northern Ireland and Afghanistan.
Robert was a keen runner, who enjoyed marathon races, hill-walking and swimming.
